Have you noticed that you are losing your hair?  According to Kimberly Salkey, MD, EVMS Assistant Professor of Dermatology “People lose hair for many reasons,..Hair loss can be genetic or related to stress, illness or disease…”  

 You are not alone if you are suffering from hair loss. The most common type of hair loss (alopecia)  is male or female pattern baldness according to Dr. Salkey.   40% of women experience hair loss and about one-half of men begin to bald by the time they are 30 years old, and most are either bald or have a balding pattern by age 60     

Treatments exist and range from “topical steroids, injections or oral medications”.
